The mother realized that something was wrong when she was starting to make lunch for her three young daughters and noticed that some of the beans were missing.
She searched the house for them and found the youngest girl, Gage sitting upstairs in her room playing with a handful of beans, but somehow the amount seemed too few.
The little girl's mother tried questioning the child and realized that this was futile as Gage had not yet learned to speak.
She finally realized what happened when she saw a slight swelling around the upper section of Gage's nose. She packed her three young daughters into the family car and drove swiftly (and safely!) to the hospital where a doctor was able to remove the pesky misplaced beans. There were six of them.
One might wonder " How did she fit six beans into her nose?" we may never know.
